The eighth defence witness, Md. Kobad Ali came to the dock to give evidence in favour of Delwar Hossain Sayedee. The lawyer Manjur Ahmed Ansari asked the questions. (see seventh witness)

Defence: What is your name and state your relevant information.The cross examination then took place, conducted by prosecutor Syed Haider Ali
Witness: My name is Md. Kobad Ali, Father- Late Md. Salim Bishwash, Mother- Late Jobeda Khatun; Aged- 69 years. Address: Village- Mohiram, Police Station- Bagharpara, District- Jessore. Profession: Farmer. In 1971 I was a farmer.
Defence: Please mention the remarkable events of 1971 of which you were attached with.
Witness: During the year 1969/ 1970 Mr. Delwar Hossain Syedee used to live in a rented house at Jessore New Town. And he used to participate in religious conferences. On 26th March, 1971 the Pakistan Armies started throwing shells over the Jessore New Town from the Jessore Cantonment. Then the inhabitants of the Jessore New Town took shelter at the village. Then Delwar Hossain Syedee has also taken shelter at the house of Late Sadar Uddin of our village Mohiron. After staying there for 15 days Mr. Rawshan has taken him to his house at Dohakola by the request of the Pir [Muslim Saint] in the first part of May. After residing there for 2 and half months Mr. Sayedee has gone to his home district in July. Mr. Delwar Hossain Sayedee is present today at this Tribunal.
Prosecutor: How many times has Mr. Sayedee gone to your area?Cross examination finished and the chairman then asked for the next witness.
Witness: He has gone several times but I can’t say what the exact number is. I used to accompany him when he has visited the area.
Prosecutor: Do you have frequent communication at the house of Mr. Sadar Uddin?
Witness: No, it was not regular.
Prosecutor: Why did you visit his house?
Witness: I used to visit his house as a neighbor. He was not my relative.
Prosecutor: Did you go to the house where Mr. Sayedee used to live there?
Witness: No.
Prosecutor: Have you ever gone to his village?
Witness: No.
Prosecutor: Did you give company to others who used to come for religious gatherings.
Witness: In cases when they were known to me, I used to give them company also, but it was not regular.
Prosecutor: Please state some of their names.
Witness: Mawlana Golam Rasul, Md. Golam Mostofa and Abu Sayeed; but I know from where they come from.
Prosecutor: You are a supporter of Jamaat-e-Islami, you are giving false statement before this Tribunal on behalf of Delwar Hossain Syedee for monetary profit.
Witness: Not true.
