8 Oct 2012: Azam 19th witness testimony day 2

In the afternoon, after dealing with a series of applications, the examination in chief of the Investigation Officer Mr. Motiur Rahman involved in the investigation of the Golam Azam trial continued from the previous day
On 10.10.2011 at 04.30 pm he was in Bangladesh Police Special Branch (political section) and seized in presence of all witnesses, total 41 documents of Bangladesh Police abstract of intelligence (Vol-25). The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 436.

The attested photocopies of those 41 pieces of documents are exhibited in the tribunal and their exhibit numbers are from 437 to 477.

On 03.03.2011 at 08.00 pm he was in DSB office of Police Super in Kushtia (a district of Bangladesh) and seized in the presence of all witnesses, total 16 copies of fort nightly report (Top Secret no- 5 to 10). The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 478.
The attested photocopies of those 16 pieces of fort nightly report are also exhibited in the tribunal and their exhibit numbers are from 479 to 494.

On 02.08.2011 at 02.00 pm he was in 36, Chamelibagh, Paradise House, 4/C, Palton, Dhaka in Anowara Begum’s house and seized in the presence of all witnesses, the picture of Police Officer Siru Miah, his son Anowar Kamal, Najrul Islam and Anowara Begum and the photocopy of the letter (which was depicted in the deposition of Anowara Begum and another witness). The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 495.

The exhibit numbers of attested photocopy of that letter and pictures are from 496-497.

On 20.04.2011 at 03.00 pm Mr. Md. Abdur Razzaq Khan PPM (who is an Investigation Officer) was in Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbag, Dhaka and from Gallery no-38, in presence of all witnesses he seized some protected pictures, ID Cards, Arrows, Bows, Spears, Badges, cannon balls and a scrap of an airplane, total 85 documents. I know his hand writing and his sign. The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 498.

Among 85 documents only 18 documents are exhibited in the Tribunal and their exhibit numbers are from 499 to 510.

On 09.02.2011 at 10.00 am he was in the office of Police Super, Dhaka and seized in the presence of all witnesses, 4 pages of attested photocopies of RO/memorandum no-3599. The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 511.

The memorandum was submitted to Md. Aminul Islam (PW-9) in the presence of witnesses. And the submission paper of memorandum was also exhibited in the Tribunal. The exhibit no is 512.

The exhibit numbers of attested photocopy of memorandum is 513.

On 24.01.2011 at 11.30 pm he was in the ministry of Bangladesh and seized in the presence of witnesses, the attested photocopies of Gazette Extra Ordinary published by the authority (Tuesday, May 23, 1972), The Proclamation of Independence dated April 10, 1971. The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 514.

The attested photocopies of those Gazettes are exhibited and their exhibit numbers are from 515 to 517.

Next, Motiur Rahman told that on 01.08.2010 at 11.30 pm he was in the office of ‘Akpakhsa’ (a magazine), Dom Inno Sonritsa, 9/14, Iqbal Road, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Where he seized in the presence of witnesses, ‘Ekbarsha’ volume 2, Ashar, 1417 (Bangle month and year). The seizure list has its own exhibit number and that is 518.

The attested photocopy of that magazine is also exhibited in the tribunal and its exhibit number is 519.

Apart from this I have collected from ‘Liberation War Museum’, letters of peace committee communicating with the Rajakars, Civil and Military administration, Video clippings of crime committed by the Pakistani Army and their collaborators, list of mass grave, killing fields, list of freedom fighters, peace committee Rajakas, Al-Badr, Al-Shams, martyrs from all the DC (District Collector) of every district of Bangladesh. I also collected the description of all damages in household, setting fire on everything occurred in the time of our liberation war. All these are submitted as investigation report to the learned chief prosecutor in 31.10.2011. My investigation report contains 360 pages and I submitted it all to the Chief Prosecutor. I also submitted with my Investigation Report, all seizure list and documentary evidence which contain 291 pages to the Chief prosecutor. Apart from this I submitted the background and history of our liberation war of 2 volumes and the deposition of witnesses of 1 volume. Again I submitted the fort nightly report on political situation of 1971 from Special Branch, East Pakistan and the attested photocopies of Police Abstract of Intelligence of 25 volumes. And I submitted 10 DVDs.
