Following the application for bail for Mir Quasem Ali, the cross examination of Gourango Singha in relation to the trial of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury continued, following on from 7 June 
Defence: Whether Mr. Profullo Chandra Singha- the Son of Notun Chandra Singha has came with you to give deposition?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether Ayurvedik Medicines were being made at the Kundeshwari Oushodhaloy?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether “Mrito-Shonjiboni Shudha” was being prepared there at 1971?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether “vang”; ‘”modok” and “sura” [vang, sura and modok are all alcoholic substances] were prepared there?

Witness: Modok and Sura were being prepared, but not vang.

Defence: Where was Notun Chandra’s paternal home situated?

Witness: I don’t know.

Defence: Where is your paternal home?

Witness: Kundeshwari.

Defence: Whether you have born in Kundeshwari?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: When the Kundeshwari Oushodhaloy was set up?

Witness: It was long time ago.

Defence: Whether Kundeshwari is situated in Purbo- Gohira?

Witness: Yes

Defence: How many brothers Mr, Nuton Chandra has?

Witness: Three.

Defence: When you have returned from India at 1972, whether you have saw any sign of bullet in the building or the mondir?

Witness: I didn’t look for any sign of bullets at any building; but I did see the mark of bullet at the College.

Defence: When did Chittoronjon Singha- son of Nuton Chandra Singha go to India?

Witness: During the Pakistan arena.

Defence: Whether Chittoronjon is having any paternal property in India?

Witness: Chittoronjon has built his own house in India.

Defence: Whether Notun Chandra Singha has any daughter named Rani?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether Profullo Chandra Singha is alive?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Krito Mohajon was the name of Rani’s husband.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Where is Kristo Mohajon’s house situated?

Witness: Hathazari, which is at west side of Kundeshwari.

Defence: Mr. Kristo was living at Chittagong before the liberation war.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether there was someone living at Kundeshwari on behalf of the excise department, who got transferred frequently.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: When the liberation started, was Mr. Manik Bihari was appointed there on behalf of excise department.

Witness: I can’t remember.

Defence: What is the distance between the main gate of Kundeshwari and the Mondir?

Witness: Approximately 200 gauze (gauze= a measure of length equal to 3 feet)

Defence: The Chittagong- Rangamati road is situated in the east-western side of Kundeshwari.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: This road is about to 6 to 7 feet high level from the ground level.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: When moving from the Chittagong district by road; this road falls on the south side of the Kundeshwari.

Witness: The road which follows Kundeshwari is a bit low level from the main road. There are vast paddy field and trees besides the road.

Defence: Yes. When travelling by transport the Kendeshwari Complex is being visible from the Rangamati Road.

Witness: The Kundeshwari College Hostel becomes visible.

Defence: Whether the Rangamati Road is visible from the gate?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether the Kundeshwari Complex was being seen clearly in 1971 from the Rangamati Road?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Chitto Ronjon, Shotto Ronjon and Profullo Chandra [sons of Mr. Notun Chandra] were born in Burma.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether your father was there at Burma with Shotto Ronjon?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether your brothers were born in Burma?

Witness: No. At Knudeshwari.

Defence: Whether 30th Choitro of 1971 [a particular day of Bangla Month] was a rainy day.

Witness: I can’t recall.

Defence: Who was the priest of Kundeshwari Mondir?

Witness: Indromohon Chakraborti; whose house is situated at Sultanpur under Raujan Police Station.

Defence: Whether your Chondon is working at ATN Bangla?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether he is in the country?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Everyone has left your Uncle alone at Kundeshwari. Who was there to cook for him?

Witness: Two men who were looking after the farms and fields.

Defence: What were their names?

Witness: 1) Dhirendralal Dey 2) Jogendralal Mohuri.

Defence: Whether on the very day of the incident of killing, Notun Chandra wore new clothe?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Mr. Nuton was living in which floor of the building.

Witness: At the ground floor.

Defence: Whether Shotto Ronjon and Profullo Ronjon were also living on that house?

Witness: Yes they were living on the first floor.

Defence: The Building is situated at the western side of the Mondir.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: There is a balcony at the first floor of the building which is at the side of the Mondir.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether there is a railing on the north side of the balcony?

Witness: No. At the eastern side.

Defence: The railing is about 3 to 4 feet high?

Witness: Yes.

Defence: There is a similar balcony at the first floor without the border of railing.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: The main gate is made of Iron.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Whether you know any freedom fighter from the village Gohira named Bivuti?

Witness: I know one Bivuti from the village Chikdai.

Defence: Chikdai village is situated beside the Gohira Union.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: There is no village named Chikdai, it is a Union.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Who has set fir on the face of your Uncle at the moment of Cremation?

Witness: I don’t know.

Defence: How far is the road Gohira from Kundeshwari Mondir?

Witness: It is less than 2 miles.

Defence: What is the distance between the Rangamati Road and Kundeshwari Mondir.

Witness: It might be 400- 500 hands.

Defence: Once the road was of soil; now which is made of brick.

Witness: Yes.

Defence: Who was the guard of the Gate?

Witness: There was a Bihari man as the guard.
